We've released another beta of WordPerfect Lightning this morning. The download is available
here. Here's what's new:
Some users having been losing content from their notes. We worked hard on
this and found a few issues that our internal testing has confirmed are now
fixed. Let us know in the forums or in comments on this post if you still
experience this problem. There may still be issues with some anti spyware
applications that could be beyond our control, but we'll monitor this through
your feedback.
Also improved is the 'send to email' functionality. There were cases of
Lightning and/or email applications locking up under certain conditions and we
have addressed these problems. While our focus and testing was with Outlook and
Outlook Express, anecdotal evidence suggests that Lightning should work with
Thunderbird as well.
We have made some enhancements in the online services area. We have
streamlined the account creation process so it is easier to set up an account.
For those of you doing this for the first time you will be able to choose your
own password when setting up your account rather than getting one assigned to
you. There is now direct access to your key online services from right within
the Lightning Navigator toolbar.
This version of Lightning includes new update technology. If you choose to
opt in to taking advantage of this technology during installation of Lightning,
you'll be notified whenever an update is available. You'll be able to choose if
and when to install the update and it will take place more or less in the
background making the update process easy and painless.
With this release of Lightning there is also an add on module being
released that allows you to send notes to MS Word and save notes as DOC files.
The module is available for trial or purchase.
The message window at the bottom of the Lightning Navigator has been
resized to take up less space on your screen.
There are other bug fixes in the release that should reduce flickering and
improve performance.
Download. Install. Tell us what you think.
Enjoy!
